Money (Dating)

Money is the number one reason for divorce in North America. I think we have to have that talk up front with our soon to be spouse to make sure everything is in order before the big day. There’s nothing worse than getting married and finding out a year later that your significant other owes $100,000 on a credit card or that your partner likes to keep up with the Jones’s. It’s not that having debt should prevent someone from marrying, it’s being blindsided by it after the marriage. Keeping up with the Jones’s on the other hand is a whole other issue in itself. These things are definitely a quick way to break up a marriage. For those who don’t believe in discussing money before marriage, you are in for a rude awakening. I’ve seen money destroy homes. They say money is the root of all evil; I disagree! The love of money is the root of all evil.

If you are single and dating, make sure you and your future partner have the same goals in mind. You don’t have to agree on everything; however make sure both of you are heading in the right direction for future. Don’t be afraid to tell that person what you like and dislike. Trust me, a cute or handsome face can turn into a nightmare if you don’t address the important issues up front.
